It’s the first day of Fem 101 and Miss Kat, an elementary art school teacher from the Iron Range, gets a first look at her new students. As she goes around the room of misfit adults we learn about their different motivations for taking the class and how much work she has ahead of her to get these students behind the movement!

Miss Kat teaches the students about objectification as the students experience what it’s like for women to wear tight clothes that push everything up and out on the classroom catwalk. This gives strong-willed Brianna a chance to give sex-scandaled politician Carson a taste of his own medicine.

Female anatomy takes center stage as the class struggles to correctly identify the various parts down south. Alex, the quiet dude in the back, stuns his peers by both winning the game and also admitting he struggles with his own anatomy … loose scalp?

When guest speaker Ariel breezes into the class bringing her tinctures, oils and pheromones to aid her talk about sex, she asks the students to face intimacy issues through a group exercise. Frank, a senior citizen, admits this is a first for him, while Josh, the local stud, falls prey to pure biology.

The class gets a surprise guest in the form of a famous feminist author who happens to be the mother of Seth, the class stoner, who runs into an old flame Gary, the eccentric writer. As Kat passes out homework, Brianna takes her to task, challenging what true feminism and equality mean.

The class paints signs to take part in a feminist march on the streets while reflecting on what they’ve learned, how they’ve grown and how their relationships have changed.
