Mel moves to Highland Park and into an apartment with the eccentric Keely, who's obsession with the deceased Chris is a little much for Mel- especially once Chris, himself, appears to her to enlist her help.
Chris was about to enjoy his summer day when he suddenly finds himself in the spirit transition realm; a white nothingness void. One spirit, Fred, takes the role of guide and introduces Chris to the rules of the realm.
Keely's attempts at friendship with Mel only serve to annoy her further. Far enough that she may even agree to help a dead guy.
Chris and Mel need to get Keely in on a seance. Things seem to being going to plan, until the actual seance starts.
Fred attempts to win Keely's love. The attempts force Mel and Chris continue to plot.
Okay, now they have the seance-thing figured out. So a second seance ought to do the trick. Right?
Mel and Keely throw a Halloween party. Chris jumps on the opportunity and makes it his mission to help Mel make some friends.
Chris and Mel aren't talking. Keely and Fred try to get them to reunite.
