"Verde Noir" combines narrative, documentary and reality TV techniques with handmade music and animation to tell the story of legalizing marijuana in Washington State from the front lines.
Follow Xander and Steve, two black market marijuana growers, as they apply for a Washington Producer/Processor license and navigate hurdles such as finding the money, moving a grow from a closet to greenhouses, paperwork, lobbying efforts, new competition, and the blinding experience of coming out of the closet.
Season 1
Season 1 follows Xander and Steve as they attempt to transition from the gray medical marijuana market to the regulated retail market in Washington State in 2013 and start a legal marijuana grow, exploring such universal struggles as the transition from a black market to a regulated market, finding investment money, lobbying and medical marijuana.
